As you will probably deduce from the names, the GT-Line AWD is the only model that gets all-wheel-drive as part of its standard specification and the one way you can have an all-wheel-drive K5.
The driving experience
Many of today’s cars that offer shoppers a choice of engines usually reserve their turbocharged units for the higher-spec performance models. All models have turbo power with the 2024 Kia K5, even the entry-level LXS FWD. Apart from the range-topping GT trim level, every 2024 K5 features a standard 1.6-liter turbo-four that develops 180 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends that power to the front or all four wheels.
If you’d like something more powerful under the hood of your K5, the GT is happy to oblige with a 2.5-liter turbo-four that provides the Kia sedan with an impressive 290 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. This time, the power goes to the front wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (Wet Type). Like all the other front-drive K5 models, the GT has Drive Mode Select. A further enhancement for the 2024 GT-Line trim is the standard inclusion of heated front seats as part of the standard specification.
